Okay then

News can be sourced from practically anywhere, but it's not too often that one gaming platform will leak information about another. Today, though, Sony's digital storefront PS Store appears to have revealed that Rockstar Games is planning to bring Red Dead Redemption to PC at long last.
Earlier today, the PS Store page for Red Dead Redemption on PS4 had its description text updated. This has since been reverted back to the old entry, but not before screenshots were taken of the updated blurb, which explicitly mentions a PC version:
"Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation — now on PC for the first time ever," the text says. It goes on later to say this version of the game matches the 2023 re-release on PS4, "plus PC specific enhancements including support for increased resolutions and framerates, multiple displays, and other accessories, plus spatial surround sound".
It's very strange for the description of a PC version to pop up on PS Store of all places, but it of course suggests an imminent announcement. Quite why the PS Store's page would need to be updated with this information is beyond us, but we are where we are.
Are you excited about a PC version of Red Dead Redemption? Let us know in the comments section below.

Really wish they could leak a 60fps patch for PS5…(for RedDead 2)

It's a shame Sony couldn't leak RDR 2 for PS5.

Weird that Sony would be doing this. Are they perhaps creating a PC launcher that has crossbuy with purchases made on PS?

It's a shame Sony couldn't leak Factions 2 onto PS5.
It's also a shame how Sony can't leak any competence nowadays

Sony didn't do this, as it appears they were getting blamed. Rockstar themselves would've written this, and accidentally uploaded it to the wrong database, or emailed the wrong contact. Otherwise Sony would have nothing to do with it, unless they suddenly became the publisher for this game.

@BeerIsAwesome Exactly. Rockstar provide the details for the listings of their games not Sony.

Still very weird to me that arguably the biggest third-party developer in the world chooses not to release games simultaneously on console and PC, like they're some little indie studio that's worried about porting costs.

@Ralizah It's either some sweet sweet money sharing thing with Sony, or, more likely, it's their overarching excessive zealous paranoia about mods "infringing their IP" and "piracy" (see below.) Zelnick is a fossil of the year 2004 or so.
@ShogunRok RDR2 works just fine on PS5. What it needs is a patch to make it run properly on ANYTHING.
There's a guy that does VR mods for PC games, he did the whole suite of Rockstar games. Mafia, GTA, RDR2. Rockstar has a habit of suing modders, and managed to even lose the case when one modder actually lawyered up and challenged them. Rockstar not only C&D'd the VR modder, but ghosted him AND Patreon when trying to find out what properties they were referring to as infringed until he had no choice but to delete everything because they wouldn't identify the infringing material (that almost certainly wasn't and they'd have lost in court, again...), but then they actually released a patch to all 3 games that had no purpose but to break the VR mods. (Yes, PSVR2 could have played RDR2 in glorious VR with the PC adapter, but alas, Rockstar is a ----- and we're not allowed to have nice things.)
Meanwhile, they refuse to release a patch to make 60fps for PS5. Or fix the completely broken HDR on ANY platform.
Honestly I don't think I'd ever spend more than $19.99 on anything Rockstar. They're the lowest tier of company. I'll treat them like I'd treat any budget 3rd world publisher.
