Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree features a wide range of secrets and shortcuts for those enterprising Tarnished who are savvy enough to find them. It should come as no surprise to fans of Elden Ring that the DLC continues the tradition of hidden pathways and secret pathways that allow players to slip past extremely difficult bosses or areas.

For those players hoping that such a path will allow them to skip past Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, this guide will bring good news. Indeed, there is such a path that will allow players to bypass Castle Ensis, acting as a shortcut into Scadu Altus.

Can You Skip Rellana in Shadow of the Erdtree?

Players looking to skip Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, and head into Scadu Altus can do so very early in Shadow of the Erdtree. It is true that the game's 'main path' is designed to allow you into the tougher region after passing the twirling skill-wall of a boss that Rellana so clearly is. The exit to her arena is literally the official entrance to Scadu Altus. But, as anyone who has played a FromSoftware game will tell you, they sure love hiding secret pathways throughout the game. And if they are there, they are meant to be used. So, the answer is YES, you can skip Rellana in Shadow of the Erdtree.

How to Skip Rellana and Enter Scadu Altus Early

The first step to skipping Rellana is to reach the Castle Front site of Grace near Castle Ensis. It may worry players to get this close to Rellana, but worry not, this is as close as we get. From Castle Front, follow these steps:

• From Castle Front, head east along the main road. At the fork, stay on the upper, marked path.
• After you get past the spiked barrier, and the path begins to curve, stick to the left andride alongside the rock wall.
• Head toward the cliff. You should see an enemy standing right at the edge. This is where you want to begin to drop into the ravine below.
• Make your way down to the bottom of the ravine. There are several rock ledges that will guide you down safely.
• Once you reach the bottom, make your way up the opposite side. Once you reach the top, stick close to the left side of the ravine, against the rock wall.
• Continue along the rock wall, and you'll eventually reach a blocked Spiritspring. If you reach the Elder's Hovel, you've gone too far.
• The rocks you need to clear to open the spring are above the edge of the rock ledge that rises just a tiny bit further east from the Spiritspring.
• Once the Spiritspring is cleared, use it to jump to a ledge, then turn right and find the second Spiritspring. This one is open and will take you to the 'Behind the Fort of Reprimand' site of grace.

You are now in the Scadu Altus. Free to exit the Fort of Reprimand and explore as you see fit. There are a number of powerful items in the region, though you may want to pick up the Scadu Altus map fragment before doing anything else. Be careful as you exit the rock tunnel that leads in and out of the fort grounds, as there is a massive Ghostflame Dragon as soon as you exit. However, if you decide to take it down, you will get one of Shadow of the Erdtree's few Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones, which could be helpful. You should return to face Rellana eventually, as Rellana's Twin Blade's are extremely useful in the early game.
